This week marks the official launch of 10f.io, a website I created to allow teachers to easily and quickly create ten-frame images. My goal is to make it fun and easy for teachers of young children to create math resources.

The core of 10f.io has been online for some time. The vision is simple: type in a short URL, such as 10f.io/4+6, and download a ten-frame image. One feature that was fun to create was the addition of emojis instead of dots. Again, users can type a simple URL to create a custom image. I’ve had a lot of fun playing with images like this.

The project has also challenged me, as it’s greater in scope than past web projects I’ve launched. For example, anyone who supports the project on Ko-Fi gains access to some fun supporter-only features. This required a backend for authenticating users as well as integrating with Ko-Fi’s API.

I’ve finished adding all of the features I hoped to have at launch, which means it’s time to start promoting the project. I’ll have my hands full improving documentation, getting the word out via social media, and monitoring the site. More to come soon!
